ในปี 2003 ห้องเรียนแรกของโรงเรียนพุทธศาสนาวันอาทิตย์วัดนวมินทรราชูทิศ Buddhist Sunday School (NMR) ก่อตั้งขึ้น ที่เมือง วอเตอร์ทาวน์ รัฐแมสซาชูเซต. โดยได้รับเด็กไทยกลุ่มแรกจากพื้นที่กรุงบอสตันมหานครใหญ่ และรัฐใกล้เคียงเข้าร่วมเรียน โดยมีครูอาสาสมัครท้องถิ่นที่มีความรู้และคุณสมบัติที่เหมาะสมเป็นครูสอน. โดยในกาลนั้น ผู้ริเริ่มก่อตั้ง คือ คุณละเมียด เวชภักดิ์ และผู้ปกครองชาวไทย.
ต่อมาในวันที่ 2 กรกฎาคม 2006 โรงเรียนพุทธศาสนาวันอาทิตย์วัดนวมินทรราชูทิศ Buddhist Sunday School (NMR) ได้ย้ายที่ตั้งมาประจำการโดยถาวร ที่ Wat Nawamintararachutit ใน Raynham, MA ในปีนี้โรงเรียนพุทธศาสนาวันอาทิตย์วัดนวมินทรราชูทิศ Buddhist Sunday School (NMR) ได้รับความเมตตาสนับสนุน จาก สมเด็จพระมหาธีราจารย์ กรรมการมหาเถรสมาคม เจ้าอาวาสวัดพระเชตุพนวิมลมังคลาราม ราชวรมหาวิหาร มอบโอกาสส่งเสริม ให้โรงเรียนเข้าร่วมโครงการกับ "ศูนย์ส่งเสริมภาษาและวัฒนธรรมไทย (CTLC), คณะครุศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย กรุงเทพมหานคร" ซึ่ง CTLC ได้นำครูอาสาสมัครที่มีความรู้ในสาขา ภาษาไทย ดนตรีไทยแบบดั้งเดิม และการเต้นรำไทยแบบดั้งเดิมมาจากประเทศไทยเพื่อสอนเยาวชน คนไทย ที่ โรงเรียนพุทธศาสนาวันอาทิตย์วัดนวมินทรราชูทิศ Buddhist Sunday School โดยทุกปี CTLC จะเลือกครูอาสาสมัครที่มีความรู้และมอบหมายให้ปฏิบัติงานอาสาสมัครในต่างประเทศเป็นระยะเวลา 1 ปี ต่อครั้ง
In 2003, the first classroom of NMR Buddhist Sunday School was established in Watertown, Massachusetts, welcoming its initial group of Thai children from the greater Boston area. Dedicated local volunteer educators with the necessary qualifications led these students. The founders of the school were Miss. Lami Wechapak and Thai parents in the community.
On July 2nd, 2006, NMR Buddhist Sunday School (NMR) permanently relocated to Wat Nawamintararachutit (NMR Meditation Center) in Raynham, MA. In that year, NMR Buddhist Sunday School received generous support and kindness from His Holiness Somdej Phra Maha Thirajan, the abbot of Wat Phra Chetuphon Vimolmangklararm Rajwaramahaviharn (Wat Pho) in Bangkok, Thailand. He provided the school with an opportunity to collaborate with the "Center for the Promotion of Thai Language and Culture (CTLC), Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand." CTLC brought qualified volunteer teachers specializing in Thai Language, Traditional Thai Music, and Traditional Thai Dance from Thailand to teach Thai children at NMR Buddhist Sunday School. Each year, CTLC selected qualified volunteer teachers and assigned them to volunteer abroad for a period of 12 months.
